Guillaume Belle – Crozes-Hermitage 2014
This bright, limpid Crozes-Hermitage is a beautiful dark red colour with glints of purple.
Initially, the nose opens quickly with notes of chocolate and cocoa bean. Then, as the wine breathes, summer fruit and blossom dominate. Powdered rose, sandalwood, rosebud and red fruit. The scent of white pepper and sweet spices – cinnamon and nutmeg – lengthen the aromatic persistence of the finish.
The palate is full, smooth and silky. The tannins have a lovely texture, typical of Syrah. The balance is well positioned between freshness and sucrosité. The vinification capitalised on a delicate vintage, allowing the presentation today of a complete and harmonious wine.
This wine should be enjoyed in the next three years, with poultry, gamebirds or braised pigeon.
